The Cornaro armchair celebrates the encounter of two opposites gracefully resolved between the sculptural wooden structure and the generously padded cushions set within it. Every detail embodies Cassina’s fine craftsmanship, starting with the exposed black saddle leather laces contained inside a grommet developed to simplify connecting the backrest to the structure.

The Insula modular sofa is Patricia Urquiola’s updated take on the traditional seating found in Arab majlis, where community members gathered to discuss events and local matters, receive and entertain guests and friends. It takes the form of a low, rational modular sofa in smooth shapes with a roll backrest, serving as the design focal point which accentuates the horizontal. It combines carefully balanced proportions as an architectural element that can be subtly integrated.

Faye Toogood’s emotional and playful approach has inspired cc-tapis to see new possibilities within their skills and technology. Textures take on new scale. Planes of colour are developed with greater depth and complexity. And for Toogood, the collaboration has pushed the studio to rethink and redefine the objectality of a rug.
