Dominique Petot

Trained as architect and industrial designer, Dominique Pétot approaches furniture design trough major image and merchandising projects, conceiving new retail concepts: Le Bon marché, Le Printemps.

Settled in Dakar in 98, he creates appetising furniture, favouring comfort, colours and material mixing. Discovered by Dakar and Saint Etienne biennales, then by Messe Frankfurt his design catches attention, thanks to the major 2005 travelling exhibit: design made in africa, creating Méridienne that revolutionises west African weaving.

He conceives generous and comfortable shapes, organic and floral, then adapted for Iris and Ibiscus armchairs and in 2010 for Cardamone couch. Méridienne, stainless steel original piece, is bought and selected in 2015 for the main travelling exhibition making africa, by Vitra museum with Guggenheim foundation.
