Mathilda Chair

Mathilda Chair

DESIGNED BY Patricia Urquiola
FOR Moroso

An everyday object, an easily recognised shape from our collective memory, that is why it feels familiar, there is something of a resemblance.

Mathilda is a modern design in the architectural sense, in the proportions between the whole and the detail. The concept is simple, perfect for its intended use: two trestles, which give solidity and affinity, hold the seat and act as a support for the backrest while also making the chairs stackable.

Considered, careful intuition brings the design bang up-to-date to create a seating system which is coherent, practical and instantly recognisable.
