For all his career, Vico Magistretti's studio was a small space within a building designed by his father, the architect Pier Giulio Magistretti. Designed and built between 1932 and 1935 by architect Piero Portaluppi for Angelo Campiglio, his wife, Gigina Necchi, and his sister-in-law, Nedda Necchi, the villa is an icon of Italian rationalism. Donated to the Fondo Ambiente Italiano in 2001, after the death of Gigina, the property is a snapshot of the fortunate past of the Necchi-Campiglios.
