Meret Oppenheim

Oppenheim, 1913-1985, was German-born Swiss artist and photographer known as a key figure in the Surrealist movement.

Her work focused on the subjugation of women, explored throughout her paintings, as well as her sculptures, using everyday objects posed as women.

She was an artist with a complex personality, a free and instinctive creativity, versatile in application of the various artistic techniques. The surrealist movement had great influence in Oppenheim’s work but nevertheless she could create her own identity.

The exuberant Traccia table, produced by Cassina, as a very true representation of her style and agenda.
