Begüm Cana Özgür & Marcos Catalan
Graduated in Design at Elisava School (Barcelona, 1997). Marcos collaborated with different architectural firms until he founded “Marcos Catalán, Studio” in 2006, developing integral projects of architecture, interior design, and product design. His studio practices a rigorous and rational method of work, with the aim of improving the quality and experience of the places in which it intervenes.
Born in 1989, Turkish designer Begüm Cana Özgür received her master’s degree from Cranbrook Academy of Art, US. In 2014, she opened her studio, based in Istanbul, where the cultural richness of the land has been the major motive in her work, developing an interest in ancient craft practices.
Cana’s work integrates design, art, and crafts. Starting from the initial ideation, her design process is carried out hands on. She plays with common materials and existing techniques to fully understand.
