Werner Aisslinger

Born in Germany in 1964, he worked as a freelancer in well known design offices, Jasper Morrison’s, Ron Arad’s and de Lucchi’s, up to set his own one in Berlin in 1993. Selected many times for the Compasso d’ Oro and other European important awards, he designed items nowadays parts in the permanent collections of Moma, Vitra Design Museum and New York Metropolitan. He believes that design has basically to search new materials and new technologies: working for Zanotta, he uses fibreglass, gels, aluminium foam, neoprene and three-dimensional textiles.

Werner Aisslinger stands for experimental design, innovative use of materials and linking technologies with emotions. He has won numerous design prizes for the groundbreaking developments which have emerged from studio aisslinger in Berlin (founded 1993), and his furniture is displayed at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
